Photopocene - Episode 3

For the third episode of Photopocene, I had a great chat with David Crawford, a Northumberland-based photographer.

David explores the notions of 'Transience' both within ourselves as humans and the wider ecosphere in his work and our conversation includes a fabulous insight into David's work and what motivates him to create.

He relates to scientific findings while retaining a sense of wonder and hope.

Photopocene - Episode 2

It was a pleasure to chat with New Zealand-based photographer Stu Sontier for my second Photopocene podcast.

We had a pretty diverse chat from documentary photography to NFT and the impact it has on the art world and the environment, and varied discussions about Stu’s work from artificial light to finding discarded inkjet printers on roadsides to create work.

I could have chatted for longer - head over to https://anchor.fm/photopocene to listen along.

You can also visit Stu’s website at https://stusontier.net/.

You can follow Stu’s work on Instagram @stusontierphoto

And if you’d like captions, a version of the podcast will be online at my ShutterPod YouTube channel.

Huge thanks to Stu for sharing his work, thoughts and research ideas.

PhotoPocene - episode 1

I am very excited to share my very first Photopocene Podcast.

In my podcast, I get to chat with inspirational photographers and photo artists who all have one thing in common - their work is based around eco-conscious activities.

Their practice may be responding to, reacting to, provoking, challenging or pioneering new photographic ways of working that relate to our natural world and resources.

On the very first episode, I am joined by the ever-curious and sustainable photography innovator Hannah Fletcher @hfletch on Instagram.

Go listen in to our chat - links below - who’d have thought mushrooms, clay, tree circles and so much more would feature in a conversation about photography. 📷🎞
